David Taylor founded D-TEC in 1976 as a time served electrician undertaking small electrical contracts. He employed 2 apprentices and worked from an electrical shop in Shaw operated by his wife Val.

Martin Kay has a wide range of management experience from a career spanning 26 years, and has recently worked on the senior manager teams at Manweb (Scottish Power) and NG Bailey.

The annual business planning workshop was held
in January. All staff attended and contributed
ideas as to how the company could be improved
and develop objectives and strategy for the next
financial year. Pictures from the workshop are

NOV 07 - Kingsway Business Park.
DTEC has started work for Wilson Bowden Developments on the prestigous Kingsway Business Park Project.

OCT 07 - DTEC joins P H Jones.
DTEC becomes part of the P H Jones Group of companies

SEP 07 - Management Buy Out.
Clarke Energy agree the sale of DTEC to Martin Kay and David Taylor and the management buyout is completed.

SEP 07 - Hardman Square project.
DTEC begins work for N G Bailey on the iconic Hardman Square project in Manchester City Centre.

APR 07 - Buxton Group sold.
Our parent company Buxton Services is sold to Clarke Energy

MAR 07 - IIP champion nomination.
DTEC is nominated by the Car North West for Investors in People champion status.

NOV 06 - DTEC Achieves Investors in People.
This is an extremely prestigious award for us and hopefully it will be the first of many. The award itself recognizes the investment the company has made in the development of its people to ensure that they have the skills and processes in place to deliver our Business Objectives. In addition it reinforces our belief that our people are our most important asset .
